STATEMENT

The work consists of an object through which I can delve into the complexity of the human being. At birth, the first thing we receive is a slap… If we don’t cry, we aren’t alive. Baby! Don’t Cry emphasizes gender and racial violence, as well as child abuse and abuse of power; but it also questions our ability to remain silent, our cunning to disguise pain with joy, and even to forget how cowardly and masochistic we are.
