STATEMENT
…for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
A modest grain of sand rests within a chest, serving as a symbol of our earthly existence. Through the lens of a microscope, this minute entity is majestically projected onto a screen, unveiling its intricate complexity. The seemingly insignificant grain of sand is magnified, reminding us of our humble physical composition. The screen becomes a “canvas” where the transience of life intertwines with eternity, challenging the notion of ephemerality.
“The Promised Land” is a work that delves into the essence of our existence through the simplicity of a grain of sand. In its contemplation, the complexities of our connection with the cosmos unfold, and through its apparent vulnerability, this grain of sand transforms into a powerful metaphor for our own fragility. By displaying it, viewers are invited to reflect on the fleeting nature of human existence and the natural cycle of life.
