STATEMENT
From February 8, 2014, to March 23, 2018, I lived in the United States under the condition of an emigrant. During these years, I carried out Rahab1 in New York City, an action in which I wore a red rope2 that I carried with me at all times. Simultaneously, through GPS, my location within the city was shared in real-time via my website, social media, and in two group exhibitions held during those years in Boston and Chicago, under the name of Cuban Virtualities.3 This action concluded when my legal status in the United States changed.

1 I establish a reference to the biblical character Rahab (Joshua 2:1-24), shifting the symbolic position of the spy and survivor to that of the modern-day immigrant.
2 I use the red cord as a mark or sign of salvation, appropriating its biblical connotation.
