STATEMENT

Color, as both a universal and individual language, is the main discursive element of this work. Beyond the various concepts attributed to colors by psychology over the years, we have created our own preferences that involve stories and motives of a personal nature.

“Colors of Happiness” is a net artwork, abstract, interactive, and process oriented. It develops a database on the web that compiles real-time statistics about the preference for a specific color.

Through an online library of shades and tones, viewers can choose their favorite color, which will be displayed on the main page of the website. The resulting COLOR can be simultaneously showcased in different contexts and formats. This choice may vary in days, hours, minutes, or seconds, depending on the frequency of user interaction.

Each color range will create a profile according to its individual record. From a drop-down menu, users can access various color palettes to interact with. Upon selecting and viewing a color’s profile, different data will be provided: how many times it has been chosen, from which country, and for how long it has been visible (from the first day of the work’s operation to the present).
