STATEMENT

Like an instruction manual, this work depicts in 1440 paintings the minutes passing over 24 hours —60 minutes for each hour—; it would be a double abstraction, considering the inherent abstraction that “time” already implies. Each piece consists of 3 graphic elements as an allegory to the clock hands: the hour hand (black), minute hand (black), and second hand (color). A fourth graphic element represents the clock’s background (usually white).
